Candidates who are shortlisted based on the CEED score have to appear for a written test conducted by the respective IIT. The test is an aptitude test. Candidates who are shortlisted after the written test have to appear for an interview. Usually 30% weightage is given to the written test and interview.
The declaration of results is the final step in the admission process. The results are declared after calculating the sum total of all the exams and interviews conducted. Based on the final score calculated, a final merit list will be published. Admission letters will be made from this list, considering the available seats in each category.
The MDes 2026 merit list is prepared on all the tests conducted from the beginning of the exam process. The merit list score is calculated based on the performance in CEED exam, the written test, and the interview as per the prescribed weightage. The students who are selected for admission in the first list have to deposit the prescribed fee for a semester and other documents for IIT MDes admission to confirm their seat allotment
