NIFT Situation Test 2026

The National Institute of Fashion Technology conducts the NIFT 2026 in two rounds, namely the NIFT 2026 entrance exam, which includes GAT & CAT and a situation test for BDes aspirants. The situation test is also known as a studio test. The BDes aspirants who pass the NIFT exam must appear for the situation test to obtain NIFT admission.

What is Exam Pattern for NIFT Situation Test

The shortlisted candidates for BDes are required to appear for the NIFT situation test. The NIFT situation test is a hands-on test that evaluates the aspiring candidate’s skills for material handling and innovative ability in a given situation and with a set of materials. Candidates must note that there won’t be any additional material provided or allowed. Candidates can check the NIFT situation test paper pattern 2026 as below.

The candidates will be asked to make a model, depending on the below parameters:

• Space visualization
• Innovative and creative use of the given material
• Composition of elements
• Colour scheme
• Construction skill
• Finesse of the model and
• Overall presentation.

NIFT Situation Test 2026 Exam Pattern

The BDes applicants should make sure that the model they have prepared consists of a write-up explaining the concept behind the model. Candidates should note that the write-up should be written in the English language. As per the NIFT notification 2026, the medium in NIFT is English. If the candidates have written the write-up in any other language, then the candidate will not be allotted the marks. The jury will do the evaluation of the situation test on the spot, and the model will not be preserved for future use.

NOTE:

• Candidates trying to disclose the identity by writing the personal information or placing any identification mark on the model or design or write-up will be disqualified from the exam.
• The final results will not be declared for the disqualified candidates.
