    About NIFT Entrance Exam 2026

    The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to notify the NIFT 2026 situation test date soon. The NIFT situation test for BDes is expected to be conducted in the second week of April 2026. Earlier, NTA has declared the NIFT 2026 result on March 20, 2026. Shortlisted candidates from the NIFT 2026 entrance exam are eligible to appear for the second stage of NIFTEE. The NIFT admission process will consist of two components - the entrance exam and the NIFT situation test/interview. Candidates will be shortlisted for the NIFT counselling process based on the scores obtained in different stages of the NIFT exam. All details about the NIFT 2026 entrance exam are available in the NIFT 2026 notification released by both the NTA and the National Institute of Fashion Technology. NTA earlier conducted NIFT 2026 on February 8, 2026. The  NIFT 2026 registration and application correction wnidow is now closed. 

    Candidates who want to pursue undergraduate programmes need to fulfill the NIFT 2026 eligibility criteria. For NIFT UG programs, a pass in 10+2 examination from recognised central and state boards is required. For postgraduate programmes, candidates need to have a bachelor's degree in the relevant field from a recognised university to apply for the exam. Candidates will be able to secure NIFT admissions into the B.Des, M.Des, B.FTech, and M.FTech programmes of participating NIFT campuses across India. The NIFT admissions are done based on the candidate's score in the NIFT final result.

    What is the NIFT Entrance Exam?

    The National Institute of Fashion Technology Entrance Exam (NIFTEE) is a national-level entrance exam conducted annually for admission into NIFT campuses across India.     Candidates must meet the NIFT entrance exam eligibility 2026 requirement before filling the application form. Mentioned below are the detailed information regarding NIFT eligibility criteria 2026 for each programme.

    For B.Des & B.F.Tech Programme: 

    • Age Qualification: Candidates should have age less than 24 years as on August 1 of the admission year. Candidates belonging to reserved category (SC/ST/PwD) will have an age relaxation of 5 years. 

    • Academic Qualification:  Candidates must pass the 10+2 from a recognised central or state board/ National Open School with a minimum of five subjects/  Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system.

    For M.Des & M.F.M Programme:

    • Age Qualification: There is no age limit for M.Des & M.F.M Programme.

    • Academic Qualification: Candidates who completed their undergraduate degree in any stream from a recognized institute or university. Candidates who passed their 3 year diploma undergraduate course under NIFT/NID.  

    For M.F.Tech programme: 

    • Age Qualification: There is no age limit for M.F.Tech Programme 

    • Academic Qualification: Candidates who completed their B.F.Tech from National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) or B.E/B.Tech. from any recognized Institute / University.

    B.Des

    It is mandatory for the design aspirants to meet the NIFT PG 2026 eligibility criteria before proceeding to fill the NIFT PG application form. The NIFT PG eligibility criteria 2026 will be mentioned in the information brochure. Candidates can check the NIFT PG eligibility criteria specified below.

    For MDes & MFM Programmes:

    • Age Limit: There is no age limit to apply for M.Des and MFM programmes.

    • Academic Qualification: Candidates who completed their undergraduate degree in any discipline from any recognized  Institute/University. Also, the students who passed their undergraduate 3 years diploma from NIFT/NID.

    For the MFTech programme: 

    • Age Limit: There is no age limit to apply for the MFTech programme.

    • Academic Qualification: Candidates who completed their BFTech. from National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT)

    Candidates have to take a printout of the NIFT PG exam admit card 2026 and carry it to the exam centre on the interview day. Also, along with the NIFT PG 2026 admit card, the candidates have to carry a valid photo identity proof to the examination centre.

    Steps to download the NIFT PG 2026 admit card

    • Visit the official website - nift.ac.in or exams.nta.ac.in/NIFT.

    • Enter the login credentials (application number and date of birth).
    • Click submit.

    The authorities also open an objection window for the candidates to raise an objection, if any, by paying the fee specified per objection. The authorities will release the NIFT PG final answer key 2026 after closing the objection window.
