The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) will notify the NIFT exam 2026 tie-breaker rule on the official website- nift.ac.in in the admission prospectus. Basically, the NIFT tie-breaker rule is being used to rank the candidates in case two or more candidates have scored equal marks in NIFT 2026 exam. The tie-breaker rule will be applied after the declaration of the NIFT result. Read this article to know all the aspects of NIFT 2026 result tie-breaking rule.

The NIFT 2026 admission will be done on the basis of the candidate's NIFT rank as well as the college preferences marked by the candidates during the NIFT counselling process.
The NIFT 2026 tie-breaker rule is one of the important parts of the NIFT seat allotment. In case, if two or more candidates have secured the same NIFT marks, candidates will be offered seats as per their NIFT rank decided by the NIFT tie-breaker rule.
While applying the NIFT tie-breaker criteria, the following factors will be considered.
When two NIFT aspirants have secured equal NIFT score, then the marks scored in the exam with higher weightages in the NIFT selection criteria will be used to break the tie.
For example, if two candidates who appeared for the NIFT B.Des course and have equal marks, then the marks secured in CAT (Part B) will be calculated, and those who have scored more will get the lower NIFT rank.
If the marks secured in the CAT exam are also the same then the marks score in the NIFT GAT exam will be taken into consideration.
If the NIFT tie-persist, then the marks obtained subject-wise in GAT in the following order will be considered.
If the NIFT tie still persists, the marks obtained subject-wise in GET in the following order will be considered.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will announce the NIFT 2026 result on its official website. While checking NIFT 2026 result, candidates can follow the provided steps.

Enter the required credentials, such as NIFT application number and date of birth
The NIFT 2026 scorecard will be displayed on the computer screen
Download the same and take a printout of it for future reference
