The National Institute of Fashion Technology was established in 1986. NIFT is now 39 years old as of 2025. Over these years, NIFT has grown stepping into the competitive world as one of the leading institutes of fashion technology in India. NIFT has 19 campuses all over India. NIFT offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses across all its campuses. The list courses and their duration is as follows.

The National Testing Agency has not released any minimum number of limits to appear for the NIFT entrance exam. If an aspirant is now selected in a particular year or is not satisfied with NIFT CMR, he or she can appear for the entrance exam again? However, the authorities will release the minimum NIFT age limit along with the NIFT 2026 eligibility criteria.
NIFT Age Limit
NTA releases the NIFT entrance exam age limit along with the official brochure in online mode. Candidates can check the age limit for each NIFT course in the table below.
NIFT Courses | Age Limit |
NIFT Age Limit for BDes & BFTech | Maximum age should be less than 24 years as on 1st August of the year of admission. The upper age limit may be relaxed by a period of 5 (five) years for candidates of Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Person with Disability (PWD) categories. |
NIFT Age Limit for MDes, MFTech, and MFM | No age limit. |
How to apply for NIFT 2026?
NTA has released the NIFT application form 2026 at its official web portal - exams.nta.ac.in/NIFT. Candidates willing to get admission in the National Institute of Fashion Technology have to fill and submit the online application form. Applicants should note that the registration will be accepted only till NIFT 2026 application form last date. Moreover, aspirants should note that they will be able to fill the forms only one time.
