What is NIFT 2025 Admission Process?

The full form of NIFT is the National Institute of Fashion Technology. The NIFT entrance exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) every year for admissions into UG and PG programmes of participating NIFT colleges. The NIFT admissions 2025 are offered into various programmes such as BDes, MDes, B.F.Tech, M.F.Tech, and MFM programmes. The qualified candidates in the NIFT 2025 exam must further qualify the situation test/ personal interview to be eligible for NIFT counselling and the seat allotment process.

NIFT 2025 Admission Process

To get admission in NIFT 2025, aspirants had appeared for the Creative Ability Test (CAT), General Ability Test (GAT), and the shortlisted candidates appeared for Situation Test/ PI as a part of the NIFT admission process. The CAT and GAT exams are the prerequisites for B.Des and M.Des admissions that was conducted online. The candidates who cleared the CAT & GAT were eligible to take the NIFT Situation test.

For admission to the BFTech programme, the candidates only appeared for the NIFT GAT question paper. Meanwhile, it is a must for the MFM candidates to pass in both the GAT and the PI rounds to acquire admission at any of the NIFT campuses.

NIFT Admission Criteria 2025

The NIFT eligibility criteria is released through the official brochure at nift.ac.in. Before starting the NIFT application process, the candidates were required to check and meet the NIFT admission criteria. The criteria for NIFT admission are given below:

NIFT Admission Criteria - B.Des programme

• Qualification (Academics): The candidates must have completed their secondary education in the 10+2 pattern from any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, including the Central Board of Secondary Education or the State Board New Delhi, or the Council for the Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi.

• Age limit: The candidates should be 24 years or below as of August 1, 2025. However, a relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Person with Disability (PWD) categories is provided for candidates.

NIFT 2025 Admission Eligibility: (B.F.Tech.) Programme

• Qualification (Academic): Candidates must have completed their Plus 2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern from any Central or State Board of Secondary Examination recognized by the government, with Physics & Mathematics as subjects.

• Age limit: Candidates should be 24 years old or below as of August 1, 2025. However, a relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit is provided for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Person with Disability (PWD) category candidates.

NIFT Admission Registration 2025

The NIFT 2025 registration dates were announced by the authorities with and without a late fee. Candidates had visited the official website and proceeded with the NIFT registration 2025. After the registration process, the candidates were allotted a registered user ID and password so as to complete the NIFT admission process 2025 by logging in through the given credentials. Candidates had to complete and pay the NIFT admission process 2025 fees as per the prescribed application fee. The NIFT application form fee was Rs. 3,000 for the general category candidates and Rs. 1,500 for the candidates of SC/ST/PWD category.

The shortlisted candidates who were qualified for the NIFT exams are eligible and are invited to take part in the NIFT counselling process, which is part of the NIFT admission process 2025. The process of NIFT counselling is conducted to provide and secure a seat at the various campuses of NIFT.

Candidates need to register for the process of NIFT counselling process. The NIFT admission counselling will be conducted in 3 rounds and a spot round. The seats will be allocated to the candidates that are based on factors such as the ranks of the candidates, the seat availability, and the campus preference.

NIFT conducts a centralised seat allotment process through online counselling. According to the NIFT seat matrix, an aggregate number of 4837 seats are allocated in total for all the different design courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
